Timestamp Converter Guide

How to Use the Timestamp Converter

This tool helps you convert various time formats:

  • Input Timestamp/Date String: Enter a Unix timestamp (in seconds or milliseconds), an ISO 8601 formatted date string (e.g., 2023-10-27T14:30:00Z, 2023-10-27T10:00:00-04:00), or many other common date string formats (e.g., May 12, 2025 at 10:15:06 PM UTC-7, 2025/09/08 02:00 GMT+2). The tool will attempt to parse a wide variety of inputs.
  • Select Input Type (Optional): 'Auto-detect' is usually sufficient. If your input is ambiguous (e.g., a number that isn't clearly seconds or milliseconds), you can specify the type.
  • Specify Assumed Timezone (for date strings without an offset): If you enter a date/time string that does NOT contain timezone information (e.g., 2023-10-27 10:00:00), you can use this dropdown to specify which timezone that date/time should be interpreted in. It defaults to UTC. This dropdown is hidden if the tool successfully parses timezone information directly from your input string (like 'Z', '+02:00', or 'GMT+5').
  • View UTC & Unix: The tool will display the input as a full UTC date/time string and its corresponding Unix timestamp values (in seconds and milliseconds).
  • Add Target Timezones: Click "Add Target Timezone/Offset".
  • Select Target Offset/Zone: For each target, select a UTC offset (e.g., UTC-05:00), a common timezone (e.g., America/New_York), or a recently used zone from the searchable list.
  • View Conversions: The converted date and time for each target will update automatically.
